The rest of my life to go

Upon making a decision to kick his smoking habit, my good friend proudly declared “one day down, the rest of my life to go.”

Now I Become Myself

I’ve done a lot of things these past few years.

I’ve been an admissions advisor and a graduate student.  I’ve directed worship music and fronted a rock and roll band. I’ve counseled the mentally ill and delivered mail. I’ve manned a desk as a financial advisor and competed on a reality T.V. show—twice. Most recently, I was a marketing professional, but that didn’t stick either. Because I was made to do something else.

Songstory: Bearers

I carried a coffin for the first time this year.

Actually, I became somewhat of a coffin carrying expert. I had the honor of pall bearing on three separate occasions when I carried Big Grandpa, Little Grandpa, and Grandpa Tom. There were fourteen years between them, but somehow it happened.

I lost three of the wisest, most influential men in my life in the same year.
